James VI of Scotland is one of, if not the, most witch-obsessed monarchs of the early modern era. He wrote a several volume treatise on the topic and oversaw the largest witch hunts in all of Scottish history. Today's episode is the tale of how Danish and Scottish witches colluded to try and drown him and his new wife, Princess Anne of Denmark.
